Inverse Kinematics Analysis of Foot Five Metatarsals Skeletal Rays
نویسندگان
چکیده
The purpose of this study is to establish models of the first to the fifth ray of the skeletal plantar arch and to analyze the model application in kinematics. Foot models are built through CT scan, then inverse model recreation. We calculated the metatarsal angles and horizontal metatarsal angles using motion analysis system. The first to the fifth metatarsal angle and horizontal metatarsal angle are both different. The same trend happened in the lateral and medial metatarsal angles. These results especially the middle part angle relationship can be further used for analysis of foot mechanics during walking or other activities.

In vivo, intrinsic kinematics of the foot and ankle
Background There are obvious problems involved in the accurate description of movement of the intrinsic bones within the foot and ankle. The 26 small bones are difficult, if not impossible to individually represent with standard skin mounted markers for motion analysis [1,2]. This international research collaboration has performed a number of studies in which invasively inserted intracortical p...
متن کاملMeasuring foot and ankle kinematics using a bi-plane fluoroscopic system
Background Accurate measurements of skeletal kinematics of the foot would increase our understanding on the interaction between foot and footwear. Previously foot kinematics was measured using reflective markers but the method had inherent limitation of skin marker-based methods. Recently fluoroscopic imaging-based methods has been developed and widely used to measure knee kinematics [1,2]. We ...
متن کاملThree-dimensional innate mobility of the human foot bones under axial loading using biplane X-ray fluoroscopy
The anatomical design of the human foot is considered to facilitate generation of bipedal walking. However, how the morphology and structure of the human foot actually contribute to generation of bipedal walking remains unclear. In the present study, we investigated the three-dimensional kinematics of the foot bones under a weight-bearing condition using cadaver specimens, to characterize the i...
متن کاملThree-dimensional foot modeling and analysis of stresses in normal and early stage Hansen's disease with muscle paralysis.
The models of the foot available in the literature are either two- or three-dimensional (3-D), representing a part of the foot without considering different segments of bones, cartilages, ligaments, and important muscles. Hence, there is a need to develop a 3-D model with sufficient details. In this paper, a 3-D, two-arch model of the foot is developed, taking foot geometry from the X-rays of n...
متن کاملDefining standards for modelling the biomechanics of the foot and ankle: a systematic review
Background The complex interaction of the bones of the foot has been explored in detail in recent years, which has led to the acknowledgement in the biomechanics community that the foot can no longer be considered as a single rigid segment. With the advance of motion analysis technology it has become possible to quantify the biomechanics of simplified units or segments that make up the foot. Ad...
